Newton Ranked Number 31 on the Best Places to Live in the US list.

Newton was just named as one of the best places to live in the US by Money magazine. This suburb placed at number 31 out of 50 cities. Columbia, Maryland topped the list.

Among the factors that were considered was Newton’s  school system, number of jobs, racial diversity and cultural activities. The report on Newton stated that it is an ideal place for those who work in Boston, just seven miles away, to which it’s connected by bus, train and light rail lines.

However, being included in the list does come with a cost. The median home prices goes up to $920,000.00 and property taxes of about $9,037.00. The cost of living index in Newton is at $137.63 which is far above average for mid-sized US cities.
